9-Year Alim Course at Jamia Abi Bakr Al-Islamia

The Alim Course at Jamia Abi Bakr Al-Islamia is a comprehensive 9-year program that integrates Arabic language proficiency, advanced Islamic sciences, and specialized Hadith studies. It is structured into three key stages:

1. Markaz Lughatil Arabiyyah (Center for Arabic Language) – 2 Years

The Markaz Lughatil Arabiyyah is designed to develop students’ proficiency in Arabic reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The curriculum includes Nahw (grammar), Sarf (morphology), Muhadatha (conversation), and Insha (composition) to ensure a strong linguistic foundation. Additionally, students receive instruction in Hadith, Fiqh, and Akhlaq, allowing them to apply their Arabic skills in Islamic studies.

To enhance immersion, Arabic is the medium of instruction from the beginning, enabling students to communicate effectively in classical and contemporary Arabic. A one-year intensive track is available for qualified students who demonstrate exceptional progress.

2. Al-Ma’had Al-Ilmi Ath-Thanawi Ar-Rabi’ – 4 Years

The Al-Ma’had Al-Ilmi Ath-Thanawi Ar-Rabi’ offers a fully Arabic-medium curriculum covering core Islamic sciences. Students engage in Tawheed, Tafsir, Hadith, Fiqh, Nahw, Balaghah, Adab, and Faraidh, deepening their understanding of Islamic jurisprudence, theology, and exegesis. The structured program ensures mastery of these subjects while refining students’ Arabic fluency.

This phase is recognized by leading Saudi universities, facilitating academic progression for students who wish to pursue higher studies. The intensive training at this level equips students with the necessary skills to engage in advanced Islamic research and scholarly discourse.

3. Kulliyatul Hadith Ash-Sharif – 4 Years

The Kulliyatul Hadith Ash-Sharif specializes in the sciences of Uloom al-Hadith, including Mustalah, Jarh wa Ta’deel, and Tadween As-Sunnah. Students undergo rigorous training in Hadith classification, authenticity assessment, and transmission analysis. The program also includes advanced study of Aqeedah, Tafsir, Muqaranatul Adyan (comparative religion), and Firaq (sects) to provide a well-rounded scholarly foundation.

In the final year, students are required to complete a thesis (100-200 pages) on a Hadith-related topic, demonstrating their research and analytical capabilities. Graduates are honored at the annual Takreem al-Bukhari (Bukhari Ceremony), marking their successful completion of this prestigious program.
