Jamia Abi Bakar Al-Islamia
Established in 1978, Jamia Abi Bakar Al-Islamia has been a beacon of Islamic scholarship, dedicated to spreading Prophetic knowledge free from sectarian divisions. For over 45 years, it has served as a prestigious center for religious, academic, and reformative education, producing scholars and educators who contribute to the Muslim Ummah worldwide.
Founding & Inauguration
The foundation of Jamia Abi Bakar Al-Islamia was laid on Friday, July 7, 1978 (10 Sha’ban 1398 AH) through the tireless efforts of Professor Muhammad Zafarullah (رحمه الله). The historic inauguration was officiated by Shaykh Muhammad bin Abdullah Al-Sabeel (رحمه الله), the esteemed Imam and Khateeb of Masjid Al-Haram, Makkah, marking the beginning of an institution devoted to Islamic education and character building.

The establishment and growth of the Jamia have been made possible by the prayers, dedication, and supervision of renowned Islamic scholars and leaders, including:
- Sufi Muhammad Abdullah (رحمه الله) – A distinguished leader of Jamat Mujahideen
- Ghazi Abdul Kareem (رحمه الله) – Leader of Jamat Mujahideen and patron of the Jamia
- Professor Muhammad Zafarullah (رحمه الله) – Founder and first principal of the Jamia
- Professor Abdul Hafeez (رحمه الله) – Former principal and head of the engineering department at Lahore University
- Dr. Muhammad Rashid Randhawa (رحمه الله) – Former principal, cardiologist, and ex-chairman of Bait-ul-Mal Pakistan
- Moulana Aish Muhammad (رحمه الله) – Former patron of the Jamia and leader of Jamat Mujahideen

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds, and peace and blessings be upon the Seal of the Prophets and Messengers, our Prophet Muhammad bin Abdullah, his family, and all his companions.
Jamia Abi Bakar Al-Islamia is an educational, charitable, and dawah-focused institution based in Pakistan, yet carrying a global vision. It is dedicated to academic excellence and research in Islamic and Arabic sciences, as well as other disciplines, following international standards and modern educational techniques. The university produces highly qualified graduates and actively contributes to serving society and spreading the eternal message of Islam both locally and globally.
Since its establishment in 1398 AH, this blessed institution has flourished for 47 years, producing graduates from over 45 countries who collectively speak more than 50 languages in addition to Arabic. These graduates have spread across various continents, making a positive impact by contributing to their communities, fostering development, and propagating the true message of Islam in accordance with the methodology of the pious predecessors. This methodology is rooted in moderation, balance, peace, mercy, and coexistence, emphasizing the role of scholars in nation-building and societal development.

Allah, the Almighty, has willed that this university serve as a fertile foundation, deeply rooted and reaching the heights of knowledge, where future scholars and guides of divine wisdom are nurtured. Over the years, students from more than 45 countries have come to drink from this pure fountain of knowledge, equipping themselves with the provisions of learning and religious understanding before returning to their communities as dedicated callers to Islam.
Allah has blessed Jamia Abi Bakar Al-Islamia with high recognition and appreciation from renowned Arab and Islamic universities. This recognition is evident in the following:
- Its curriculum is accredited and equivalent to the educational standards of prestigious Islamic universities in Saudi Arabia. The secondary school certificate issued by the university is recognized as equivalent to the secondary certificates of:
- The Islamic University of Madinah
- Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah
- Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University in Riyadh
- The University of Kuwait
As a result, graduates from Jamia Abi Bakar Al-Islamia can enroll in the respective colleges of these esteemed universities.
