UMAR BIN ABDUL AZIZ MOSQUE:
This Mosque is situated at Plot-53, Lane-18, Phase-VII, DHA, Karachi. It was constructed by the Honorable Consul General of Qatar at Karachi 1984 and was handed over to the Professor Muhammad Zafarullah, Mudeer Jamia Abi Bakar Al-Islamia through Defence Housing Authority in 1985. The management of the Jamia was running the mosque affairs successfully with the spirit of Islam and constructed a Madarisa with the mosque in 1994 for further promotion of Islamic education. Unfortunately on 17th March,2016 the possession of the mosque was taken by the Defence Housing Authority due to dispute between the management of Jamia Abi Bakar Al-Islamia and appointed Imam Masjid. A suit in the honorable Sindh High Court is in process to resolve the issue. The mosque is inhabited and Friday sermons and prayers are held regularly and the locals do not face any difficulty in performing their prayers/worships. At present the Defence Housing Authority is the custodian of Mosque and responsible to bear all its expenditures. We are hopeful that the decision of honorable court will be in favor of Jamia Abi Bakar Al-Islamia, In Sha Allah.
