Islamic Economics Research Department (Markaz al-Tarjama wal-Tahqiq li-Iqtisad al-Islami)
The Islamic Economics Research Department was established in response to the growing need for Shariah-compliant economic solutions that align with Islamic teachings. Operating under Jamia Abi Bakar Al-Islamia, the department is dedicated to research, scholarly publications, and the practical implementation of Islamic financial principles in contemporary economic systems.
Key Initiatives & Objectives:
- Publishing academic research on Islamic finance and modern financial transactions.
- Organizing short-term workshops on economic topics, led by eminent scholars like Shaykh Sanaullah Zahidi and Shaykh Hafiz Muhammad Sharif.
- Hosting seminars and discussions on Islamic economics and finance.
- Publishing an annual economic journal covering critical Islamic finance topics.
- Developing a curriculum for the Faculty of Islamic Economics to train future experts.
- Training specialized scholars with expertise in both traditional Islamic finance and modern economic issues.
To date, the department has successfully organized seven workshops, drawing participation from scholars and professionals committed to integrating Islamic principles into financial systems.
